Breast Aug Incisions: Which is Best?

One of the big things you need to think about in breast augmentation regards the incision method. There are different factors that will affect your choice of incision placement. It is not all about the scar size, as you might think, though that is one of the critical issues that women often think about. Each method has a different scar placement and can result in a variety of different issues. Do you know anyone with breast implants you can ask about their decision?



Plastic surgeons offer four options for incisions for your breast implants.

1) Through the nipple



2) Under the arm



3) Under the breast



4) Through the belly button



The incision method choices each have their benefits and challenges. Please be sure to reseach each of these methods with each of the benefits and problems.



Some breast plant options are not available with all of the incision methods. For example the TUBA, or belly button breast augmentation method, cannot be done with silicone breast implants. However, each of the other options are available for both saline and silicone. While the scar is generally about one inch larger with silicone implants, it can still be hidden well especially when done through the nipple. Be prepared to talk your doctor's language by doing some research on the internet first to see what method is right for you.
